June 17, 2022        Dear friends,

As June 21 rolls around, the Summer Solstice, summer bursts forth in all its glory in Southwest Montana! And, so do the Sundays after Pentecost, sometimes called Ordinary Time. The Lectionary readings tell stories of Jesus ministry, this year, from the Book of Luke.

Last Sunday we had a vibrant, joyful celebration during which the Bishop baptized Hunter Thomas Trantolo and received Carol Uhler into the Episcopal Church. A festive reception and fellowship followed the service. Hunter’s facial expressions and happy demeanor were totally delightful!

The Vestry hosted a salad potluck dinner meeting for Bishop Marty Saturday evening to update her on the transition and to discuss next steps. It was an intimate and productive meeting.

With many thanks for the initiative and efforts of Tammie Rich-Worden we are transitioning to printed liturgy booklets for all services. Tammie will collaborate with Carol Meacham, Ellen Daugherty, Worship Leaders, and Readers to offer the congregation an accessible format for worship. Tammie is generously sharing what she is learning in Deacon School, as well as gaining valuable knowledge and experience.

I am sorry that the Summer Liturgy and picnic scheduled for June 26 has been cancelled, mostly due to the mess of the water main construction project. Right now it seems like mostly destruction. The good news is that will celebrate Holy Eucharist at St. James at 10:00 am. So, don’t miss it!

The inaugural worship that we hoped to share with Legacy Assisted Living this Sunday is postponed due to a Covid outbreak there. We pray for the residents and staff that they may have a speedy recovery. And that we can worship together soon. Thanks to Mary Ann Nicholas who will help facilitate this new relationship.

We will begin distributing communion from the rail again during the regular services. And, plan to begin Home Communions by Eucharistic Visitors, so if you would like to receive a home communion let the office know.

We are getting so close to having the re-designed website ready!!! It is quite exciting!!! Ellen has worked countless hours on this project and her dedication to making it a priority has paid off!! Stay tuned!

I thank God for all of you and your faithfulness. It is a privilege to share this pilgrimage with you.
