Second Century Campaign
Saint James Episcopal Church is blessed with a large, sunny lot with excellent southern exposure, on a main street within the historic downtown district of Dillon, Montana. Within three short blocks, are the County Courthouse, Post Office, Library, Jaycee Park, and the County Museum, as well as three banks, the County High School, and downtown shopping. Also in the neighborhood are the First Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Vineyard churches. Dillon is a small city of 4,000 to 5,000 residents. It was founded with the coming of the railroad in the fall of 1881. In 1882, the cornerstone of Saint James Episcopal Church was laid. The church has been part of Dillon for 133 years.

The church facilities at 203 East Glendale Street include the original 1882 church, moved to this location in 1889, and a two-story Guild Hall, built in 1911. These buildings are connected by an enclosed entry, and occupy most of the northern and western portion of the lot, adjacent to the alley in the rear. There is a large lawn on the Glendale Street side, and a smaller lawn on the east end of the Guild Hall.

Almighty God, source of all we possess,
you sustain our lives.
Your Holy Spirit inspires us to be good stewards, and we thank you for the opportunity to prepare St. James for a second century of service. Bless and guide our capital campaign, so that our church may reflect the inexpressible gift of Christ’s presence, to serve and invite others to share His message in this community. By faith we trust, in discipleship we walk, and to generosity we are called,
to your honor and glory. Amen.
